Collagen supplements deserve an honest assessment: evidence is mixed. A 2025 meta-analysis by Myung and Park found that high-quality studies and those not funded by supplement companies showed no significant effect on skin hydration, elasticity, or wrinkles. This is a newer treatment that’s particularly suited for compromised, reactive skin. Cold Atmospheric Plasma generates reactive oxygen and nitrogen species at body-safe temperatures (20-40°C), creating no thermal damage.
What makes cold plasma unique for barrier repair is its ability to simultaneously modulate inflammation, kill problematic bacteria without disrupting overall microbiome balance, and stimulate tissue regeneration.
